So i read The Mysteries of Pittsburgh... it was pretty enjoyable.

I felt like the book was written specifically for me, as it included: Pittsburgh, Homosexuality, Oakland, (gangsters?), and most of all the Hillman Library. It was pretty exciting whenever the Cathedral of Learning was mentioned, or Presby, or even Atwood.

I was just looking up some stuff about the book when i discovered that apparently they are making it into a movie, with Peter Sarsgaard and Sienna Miller. IMDB says it should be filming this July in Pittsburgh, but the post gazette says that they are trying to see if they have enough money to film in Pittsburgh and might end up not doing so.

My life is made: E.L. Konigsburg (the author of the mixed up files of mrs. basil e. franknweiler) for a time attended pitt!

"She then began studying for her master's degree in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, where she twice blew up the laboratory sink. Elaine decided she did not have the temperament to be a chemist."

HERE IS THE ARTICLE

Other fun facts from wikipedia:
About the movie birth with Nicole Kidman. The movie generated controversy due to a scene wherein Kidman shares a bath together with Bright, both apparently naked. In fact, they wore flesh-colored swimsuits and were never actually in the tub together (the footage was later combined digitally).

cary grant and marlon brando had a rumored homosexual love affair. w00t!

I have a few theories:

- Pittsburgh steals time.
- Steel is so strong because it is made out of time.
- I like it.

Although... I don't like homework and with time flying, procrastinating it is pretty much the worst idea ever. Oh well, I will worry about it tommorow.

So today was effing amazing.

this morning i woke up at the crack of dawn (6:30) and took a shower to get ready for the day. after i got all dolled up my sister, mom, and dad headed over to pick up a nicole from valley view rd. then we were off to the magical land of trenton new jersey!

from the trenton train station we took nj transit to new york, penn station. then all but my mom and i used the bathrooms. (exciting stuff, i know) from there we walked to fifth avenue and went along going to a few stores, including H&M where i got a pair of gloves for the rest of the day. we looked at the windows at lord&taylor, and saks. they had weird christmas displays which were very cute and intricate. interesting. then we ate lunch and went to barnes and nobles quickly.

then we trekked on back to times square to meet my aunt dolores. she was eating a pretzel, and then was talking about the big new york transit strike, which was all over the news but luckily wasn't affecting us. we went to the theatre where we were going to meet my gay uncle bob and see the producers. and see the producers we did. my uncle bob appeared out of nowhere and met us in line. after some complicated seating arrangements we were settled in for the show. the show was pretty damn amazing, much more funny than i had imagined. some of the music was just ok, but 'springtime for hitler' was freaking awesome. the show went by uber quickly, and had lots of gay jokes and adult humor... my mom totally was sitting next to nicole, so i hope she enjoyed that. also during the play the main character, max, happened to throw in a joke about not being able to get a subway, it was amazing.

from the show, which everyone seemed to enjoy, we headed over to my uncle bob's apartment to freshen up before dinner. his apartment was only about a block or two away from the theater which was awesome, especially because we all had to urinate. his apartment was pretty gay, and he had some awesome pictures of my mom and aunt barbara. he lives on the 18th floor and has a cool view of midtown. he also has a cute view of the hudson river and new jersey. i love views from up high. then we were off to a restaurant that my uncle had suggested. they are known for their pizza, and it was pretty good. we all split a caesar salad, which i thought was the best caesar salad ever, but then again i was crazy hungry. nicole and i shared fettucinne alfredo, which was delicious, it was by far the best alfredo i have ever had. it was so good. i think i am in love.

then we walked back to penn station and rode the train home. where nicole fell asleep on me for a little while, mixed in with some good conversation. then once i got home i looked at my grades, by looking at my schedule on the portal. anyway, i was really worried about what i would get in calculus. I got a B-! which is totally amazing! this topped off my awesome day.

i know this probably wasn't very coherent, but i am tired, so live with it.

i finally got to see brokeback mountain, so the obsession should wind down a little bit now. i really liked it, but i was biased and probably would have liked it no matter what. oh and it was depressing as all hell, but the short story prepared me for that.

we also ate mcdonalds. now i am tired and am going to bed.

i just went on IMDB to read up about the man that nicole is in love with from our movie tonight 'yours, mine, and ours'

Sean Farris. i realized what i remember him from, he was the pedophile in sleepover! unfortunately he is quoted saying "I hate junk food. It depresses me." which means he has no soul. but! there is still hope, my dear nicole! "I hate the polo collar." we shall assume that he is referring to popped collars.

i go home tomorrow!

yesterday i got an email from pitt saying they have my file and are just waiting for my grades. they also asked for a phone number to contact me over the break, if they need to. that put me in a good mood. then nicole's sister's flight from houston was delayed so i ended up bringing up nicole's car to oakland so we could then pick her up. i then slept with safia... and it was DAMN good.

this morning when nicole went to her last final, her sister and i drove off to greensburg to return me for my last final. we talked most of the ride, and it wasn't akward so i was proud of myself. we ended up missing the first turnpike exit, which isn't a big deal because it doesn't add that much extra time. as we drove into greensburg amanda agreed that it is just like croydon. after i got back i showered and had some fantastic coffee and shower time. later i went to mcdonalds.

this evening the roads got crazy icy, and i got worried about driving to class. i drove about 20 mph the entire way, only breaking 25 twice. then i finished my last final for 1950s lit, which wasn't that bad at all. i got back my paper from last week, which i wasn't very proud of. apparently it was still better than most of the class, i got an A-. my teacher liked my thesis, because i effing rock. the ride back was just as crazy with the ice. oh winter.

anyway, i am going home tomorrow. this is amazing, in case you didn't realize. i am very ready to go back home. sometimes i just like to keep typing without doing any actual thinking, i just kind of like the sound of it. sometimes i think about when actors type in movies. do you think they have other people type for them? they tend to be very good typists with very few mistakes when chatting it up online. and if someone else does do the typing, do you think the actors ever feel insulted, like... "what, is my typing not good enough for your movie? is it not real enough?" and then that gets me thinking about how in movies answering machines pick up after one or two rings. i don't know why that bothers me, but sometimes, it really does. <-- that was my typing sans thinking, i hope you enjoyed it.

every time before i go home, i have a massive amount of laundry to do... and i do it the night before... and then it isn't dry until after i want to go to bed. damn me, and my predictability. but i am still excited to go home for the holidays, or should i say HOMO for the holidays? oh i love puns, and dwelling on my sexual orientation.

on the note of my sexual orientation. sometimes people get confused about my gender and call me a 'her' or 'she'. well next time you have the urge to call me she, i would prefer sie/zi. for her - hir/zir.

It is 1:41, and i have only been out of bed for 40(ish) minutes! Even though nicole called me around 11 and we chatted it up briefly, i never left the bed and quickly fell fast asleep.

speaking of sleep, i had really weird dreams last night. the one was about my family going to some museum/showcase type thing on long island, it was kind of like a reunion for my dad's family and friends. anyway, it was kind of set up like the gughenheim, the twisting circular one w/o stair. each room had a different year that people were born, and people from my dad's side of the family and random friends from his youth would be waiting in the rooms to say hi and reunite. i was with him when he went to go into one of the year that was close to the one he was born in, expecting to see lots of his friends from his childhood. right before we went in he told me that he was excited for this year, in this year several of his friends and 'the girl he will never forget' were born. we went in and there wasn't anybody in the room, it had turned out that they had all died. my dad looked disappointed. then i cried. it was by far, i think, the weirdest dream i can ever remember.

on a totally different topic, i finished my hell day of two 'used-to-be-overlapping' finals! the french one was fine, and although it was worth 18% of my grade I only needed a 68 or something to maintain an A in the class. then i went on to calculus. it was like be raped by something very large, and then having to integrate it. it was not fun, not fun at all. but on the bright side, i am done with calc and math in general. in a way i will kind of miss always having math around to fuck with my head.

yesterday was really cold. randomly yesterday afternoon/night i took a walk around the neighborhood. it was, freezing, but it was actually really nice to just go for a walk sans destination, cell phone, or other people. i realized that on of my favorite parts of winter, is that feeling of defrosting when you come into your warm home from the ridiculously cold outside.

i feel like an actual man recently, i am having such problems identifying my emotions. i can't tell if i am bored, anxious, nervous, excited, depressed, or just overwhelmed anymore. i think the whole weight of the christmas break oakland decision (which i have no control over at this point) is starting to hit me. so that is making me anxious, like woah. i also felt really nervous and crazed over these finals, and now that most of them are done, i don't know what to do with my extra time. i am not used to having time when i am not procrastinating studying. i am way excited to go to go home, and to see the producers and brokeback mountain.

oh, and i am still very obsessed in brokeback mountain. it is up for 7 golden globes. it is also coming out this weekend in philly at the ritz. so i will force you all to see it with me, if i must. i also thinking jake glyllenhaal looks a little like KD lang...

hurray for snow! this morning at about 9:30 alison knocked on my door and then came in all excitedly to tell me that french class was cancelled! that makes today officially mad wicked awesome. yes. i am done with al classes for this semester (minus terrible terrible finals)

if i don't at any point feel like getting groceries, going out to eat, or seeing people i don't have to leave the apartment again until tuesday morning! which means i have lost of time to study. which is good, in a lame ass way.

i love that after the night of a snow storm, when everything is covered in snow, the light reflects of the snow in every direction making it bright outside and in my room. it makes it so much more pleasant to get up. and to stay up.

i was able to straighten out the whole finals mess with my french teacher, i will just go half an hour earlier to the french final. then run over to the calc final after french. so that is good.

last night i went to take a nap... and then woke up this morning halfway into my calc class, which sucks because now i am still not done my lit paper. atleast i didn't miss much in calc, we didn't learn anything new and he didn't say much about the final exam, and what he did say i called someone from my class to find out. so not all is lost!

last night i had really weird dreams about random people coming out to me and then trying to get with me... it was actually pretty damn sweet, but then i woke up. then i realized i seriously need to get laid or something.

brokeback mountain is coming out on limited release this weekend, and cuasing quite a stir in the gay community. despite the "i wish i knew how to quit you" line i am pretty excited for the release. hopefully it is better than eating out... which sucked, like most gay movies do.

i am now officially procrastinating writing this damn paper. so i will get back to that now.

COFFEE
Sleep
Sudafed 24-hour
Tylenol Cold

well i had a mostly good weekend. spent most of it up with nicole in O-town.

we went to see the AIDS quilt wich pitt had 80 pannels of. it was pretty amazing, also very upsetting and depressing. it really put a face on the disease. not that i particularly needed on, but it really seemed to affect eveyone that went to see it (at least everyone with a heart). it made me miss my uncle briand. it also made me feel kind of uplifted for my uncle bob's very fortunate health. although i couldn't help but think of the day he came down to tell my mom.

later that night we watched the accused which was really good and had jodie foster in it. i love jodie foster. she is an amazing actress/lesbian. gang rape is also sad.

this morning i was all ready to leave and i went to get my car from the soldiers and sailors parking lot... when i got in i noticed the dome light didn't switch on when i came in. then i realized that my battery might have died or the bulb in it. turned out it was the battery and i had left the dome light on, as when i tried to start the car... it did nothing.so i ended up calling Tripple A to jump my car. they said they would be there in under 90 minutes. they actually ended up coming only 25-30 minutes later so i was very happy. i love AAA. they are the most amazing people ever. also i love christina for entertaining me while i waited on the phone. so i was able to make it home alright.

so now i just have tons of homework to do. and i am going to get back to that immediately.

i should be doing homework now... i will start soon.

so i was a little thrown off by the break, and getting back into the swing of classes was weird. but i am fully adjusted once again.

umm yeah, other than that, nothing really happened. i did laundry today. i went to classes all week. i did some homework but not enough. oh, and found out that i secretly have a 6-8 page paper due a week from today in 1950s lit. that sucks. i also have a final ans several test/quizes next week.

so next week should suck pretty hard. this weekend should be fun. nicole and i are supposed to be camera whoring around downtown by the tree.

i am making corn caserole! i feel so domestic! and last night i made brownes which i will bring to nicole this weekend, so we can enjoy them together... along with the other 311 roommates.

so my life is pretty boring. nicole actually just hng up on me for being boring. and then my phone made this odd cliche 'someone hung-up on you' sound. which was almost amusing.

i saw rent! (the movie)

i liked it. which is good, because if it had sucked i would have been very upset.
at one point i thought they took out "Take Me or Leave Me"... but they didn't.

so now i am happy. oh yes we also had a fun time stealing a massive rent cardboard promotional thing with cubes with different pictures on each side... hard to explain... let's just say it wouldn't fit in my mom's minivan... but we managed with two cars. it is massive and awesome. good times.

i always forget that rent isn't totally uplifting. AIDS sucks. it also sucks when people die form it. but it is freaking awesome when people live unexpectedly long with it.

i also saw harry potter today, also fun.

oh and...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

wow! i love my bed, like woah!

anyway, i am home now. after a 6 hour car drive (thanks to oakland traffic). the ride back was weird, the first half went by pretty slowly, but the second half we played a variation of nicole's word association game, (safia, perry, nicole, and i) which made the second half feel like it took about 15-20 minutes. so that was pretty good.

eveything is still pretty much the same here, my entire family got haircuts, moira's being the most noticable, followed closely by dandilion fluff. last night we went to the movie theatre and saw christina in her new spiffy uniform and slightly longer hair... very slightly... the movie was weirdly good and scott and i got into it like little school girls. oh yeah i also saw scott for the firts time in about forever, and made a decision to jump on him in the middle of the theatre lobby. good times. anyway halfway through the movie i looked down and i had a vagina. i actually turned into a woman. damn jane austen.

it feels good and comofrtable to be home. today i hope to see atleast 2-3 movies, because tommorow i will be heading up to Bumble Fuck, NY to visit faux famille. but i like my faux famille more than most of my real relatives so it should be fun. but it will involve, most-likely, no movies. and we all know how important movies are to hapiness.

oh yeah, i also saw sara last night after our movie, so that was a fun reunion.

it happeneded, despite my best efforts. i like the kanye west song, jesus walks with me. first jay-z's 99 problems, then this, what is the world coming to?

friday after a meeting with Fatty McKnowsnothing, i went over to oakland to meet nicole for a weekend of fun. friday we saw cory's play. which was the most depressing thing i have ever seen, but my little girl was soo good! and we were all very proud of her. saturday nicole chintal and i went to see jarhead finally. it was pretty good, but weird. we also rented movies at some point and didnt watch them. we also ended up playing the most awesome game ever invented. Word Flash TM. the basic idea of it is, you go around choosing words and everybody writes down the first word that comes to their minds. if two people write down the same words, then they each get a point. so simple, yet soo fun. the next mroning i went with nicole for breakfast at pamelas.

effing pittsburgh steelers cause grey's anatomy to be pushed back until 2:00 in the morning. but it was worth it. because it is like crack. and next week is a thanksgiving special... and we all know how fondly i look upon holiday specials.

so i am kind of on a showtunes and soundtrack music kick right now. rent rocks my socks, and i am totally excited for the movie to come out. oh and this winter break my imediate family (including nicole) and my godparents (gay uncle bob, and single aunt dolores) are going to see the producers in new york. so that should be fun, exciting times. so i downloaded a song from the show 'springtime for hitler', which has the funniest line ever in it. "Don't be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the nazi party."

you can't hear the rain in my room.
but i can see it pouring down and bouncing off my car.

it is so much easier to read when it is raining outside. and it feels so comfortable and cozy in here, with the yellowed electric light and l'après-midi gris. (lolita has convinced me that it is ok to throw in french to journal entries and conversation)

so last week was cool, i got back a calc quiz which i got a 100% on, because i am effing awesome. the i was raped by a stat quiz which i ended up getting a b on. then i was raped by a 1950s list exam... which sucked and i wont know how i did until this thursday. the topic of the essay section was about the authors' critiques on normal domestics and their alternate plans for domestics. i was able to do kerouac and snyder fairly well. but when it came to allen ginsburg i wrote a few sentences of pure bullshit about him not liking society or anything normal and then "besides, ginsberg was homosexual and this was not considered to be normal domestics in the 1950s." to give my essay test that little homophobic flare.

on the bright side this weekend was pretty awesome. got to go up to oakland and not see jarhead (after attempting twice) watch the shipping news (very odd but what i saw of it was pretty good) and take safia and nicole back to my bachelor pad where i did five thousand dishes, but had fun while doing it.

my french test was pretty stressful, and i have no idea how i did. i got an A on my take-home econ test (what a joke). today calc was cancelled giving me back two more hours of sleep upon my return to the apartment. oh and on another good note, lolita is pretty interesting. on the road was not very interesting. which was a disappointment.

i just heard thunder. i love thunderstorms!

Apparently Nicole and I were both hurricanes in the 2004 season... and nicole was special.
I apparently killed one person. Nicole killed none. I was more than twice as strong. Nicole cause no damage. I caused 5 million dollars.

So I got a new cell phone, it is cute and pretty cool. Unfortunately, greensburg is an evil hole of death that just sucks signals and life into it. So I get sucky signal at my apartment. I get good signal pretty much everywhere else... which is very frustrating.

Today was filled with tests and fun stuff of that nature. French was long tiring and made me want to kill little babies.

We now have the apartment phone hooked up, 724-600-0439. You should call it if it is after 7 or whenever it becomes free for you, it should be less frustrating than my cellular issues.
